Bishop Wilton, Past and Present

Bottom End - 5

previous postcard | up | next postcard

One of the best postcards of all and possibly one of the earliest. It belongs to a set that can be identified by the handwritten description and the characteristic "i".

The site has changed dramatically in recent years. The ivy clad house on the right has been demolished and rebuilt (and another house has been built in front of it). The Wesleyan Chapel which was built in 1810 has been converted into a dwelling. The house on the left has been renovated. Both sets of iron railings have been reintroduced.
